Day fourteen: another day without contact
Fourteen days after the involuntary admission, there was again no contact with Trudy. From today, those close to her can sign up for more detailed updates on the case.
Today is day fourteen. Trudy is still in the closed facility in Amsterdam.
No contact
There was no contact with Trudy today. Since Saturday evening’s call attempt, which went unanswered for nearly two minutes, no one in the family has spoken to her.
No message from any party
No message came in today — not from the Municipality of Gouda, not from the facility, not from the assessing physician. The court order and the medical certificate have still not been provided. The deadline set for this in the formal demand expired on 16 July.
Nor has there yet been any reply to the requests for advice sent last Saturday to several national advocacy organisations. That is not unusual over a weekend.
New: sign up for more detailed updates
Many people who know Trudy — neighbours, former colleagues, friends, people from the area — follow this site to learn how she is doing. For them, there is an additional option from today.
Anyone who wishes to can sign up for more detailed reporting on the case: background to the procedural steps, and notice when there is a development that does not fit in a short daily entry. You can sign up through the notice that appears on a first visit to this site, or via the button at the foot of this page.
A few things about that, so it is clear:
- Sign-ups are reviewed by hand. This case concerns the privacy of a vulnerable woman. Not every sign-up will be accepted.
- The details stay with the family. Name and email address are used solely to send updates about this case. They are not shared with third parties and are not used for anything else.
- You can unsubscribe at any time, via the link in every message or by contacting the owner of this site.
The public daily entries on this site remain exactly as they are and stay free for anyone to read. Nothing is moving behind a sign-up.
What happens next
Another attempt will be made to reach Trudy by telephone, during the day, when the switchboard is staffed. Contact will also be made with the facility’s client confidential counsellor, with whom a visit request is outstanding.
Her birthday is in five days.
